I'm so blessed to hear how God has been working in your life, and I can't wait to hear more about Africa!abbyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07142932587620924444noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7065488032518314815.post-41161124903771710342011-07-18T07:12:09.588-07:002011-07-18T07:12:09.588-07:00I'm getting a chance to catch up on all your b...I'm getting a chance to catch up on all your blogposts, and I've missed hearing (err, reading) your words.

This post brought me to tears. I loved this line: I think we all long for the past and relish its remembrance, but we also love now.

I have spent the past 3 days thinking about Africa, and missing it so, so much. I have been reliving the stories, treasuring the photos, and just longing to go back so badly it hurts.. but then I hear the sounds of home (my mama's voice, Ellie laughing, my dad playing piano) and I think, "I've missed this." It's hard and it sucks because you can't have both, no matter how much you want them.

Thank you for reminding me to remember God in the Africa moments, but also to find Him here now. I'm not sure when you were writing this if your point was to encourage us to see God in the past and also the present, but that's what I got from your writing.. so thank you :)Annahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06330727518003649792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7065488032518314815.post-78611568500832107362011-07-14T15:27:29.816-07:002011-07-14T15:27:29.816-07:00Thanks Emily, your comment definitely made my day....Thanks Emily, your comment definitely made my day. There are lessons I had to learn back then and in the years to follow that I do not want to be reminded of. There was sadness, there were humiliations that stung, separations that ached. But in these memories I am reminded that God is so good and so gracious." That's what it all comes back to for me too. God's goodness & faithfulness in every hard & beautiful moment. What sweetness.emily hopehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02083381575932272938noreply@blogger.com
